Reporting in to the Divisional Manager the role involves:

  • Taking a lead role in account management and sales through the development of strong customer relationships
  • Identifying opportunities from concept to product development and presentation, ensuring category growth
  • Production management including fabric sourcing, developing specs, managing fit and samples
  • Working with other offices who will provide sales and production support
  • Order placement with China and other countries, managing the critical path and identifying possible quality or delivery issues and solving problems before they happen
  • There will be travel to suppliers to build relationships and explore opportunities

You will need:

  • Solid garment industry experience including account management and production
  • Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues
  • A positive and energetic approach, along with a sense of fun and enjoyment in your work
  • Advanced technical understanding of garment construction and production
  • A thorough understanding of the garment process and production timelines
  • Effective prioritizing and planning skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and Power Point skills
  • CAD Design

Intermediate Designer - garments

We are leading importers and wholesalers, supplying retailers for over 55 years, with a growing international presence in Australia, NZ, South Africa, Canada, UK, Europe and the USA. Our people are entrepreneurial with extensive expertise and a passion for their work.

The role involves working on the Kidswear and Sports categories.

Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the business/account manager with trend forecasting and presentations
  • Creating CAD storyboards and colourways
  • Creating print/stripe designs
  • Creating accurate spec packs
  • Coordinating photography shoots and packaging samples
  • Fit and measure samples
  • Arranging lab dyes and strike offs with factories
  • Creating packaging artwork according to a style guide

You will need:

  • A degree in fashion design or similar
  • Advanced Adobe Suite, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Garment construction and fabric knowledge and work experience
  • Trend forecast and story board creation
  • Attention to detail and ability to design to a price point
  • Previous experience in any of the product categories mentioned
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated, a "can do" attitude and positive team player
